OK, so you wanna take a road trip and ya wanna rock… Omemee is the place, here’s the plan. First, plug in some tunes… may we suggest something by, say, Neil Young or maybe The Beatles? Google directions to the village, climb into your buggy and hit the road. Once you get to town, of course, come check-out the Youngtown Museum…you’ll be glad you did. When you’re finished your visit, trust me, you’ll wanna buy some classic rock records… perfect, head on across the street to see Randy at Omemee Ace Hardware. Randy’s got all kinds of vinyl LPs and vintage stereo equipment for sale… tell him the guy across the road sent ya. After all this messin round town, you’ll be gettin hungry right? Not a problem. Head on down to the west end of town to the Roadside Diner… great food at good prices. If ya cant walk that far, then check-out Bill’s Fish and Chips beside the TD Bank… once again, real good food and not just fish n chips. After your meal you’ll need to relax so go check-out Butternut Folk Art or cruise on down to the beach and take it easy for a while. Omemee, a beautiful village in the scenic Kawartha Lakes…come visit!

Omemee is roughly 1.5 hours from Toronto. About 1 hour from Oshawa, Whitby, and Orillia.

  1. Hiya folks….we live in Calgary and will be seeing the Twisted Road Tour come this July 24th here in Calgary. Then after that off to Ontario for a wedding in Claremont at end of August, then a road trip to the ‘Cage at which point we’ll be stoppin’ in for a visit. We’re HUGE NY fans and are old enough to repay, but young enough to sell. Hope to see you there and chat about your trip to La Honda, We were there in summer ’09 while Neil was away on the Euro tour last year.
    Kindest regards,
    Bill & Janette
